de.arch p/l (pronounced 'de arc') is an Melbourne based architectural practice established in 2012. Our aim with each project is to provide functional design solutions that have an elegant simplicity, are timeless and unique.

Our belief is that every project is an opportunity to explore new and better ways of living through design. We love creating spaces that not only meet our clients’ needs but exceed their expectations. We enjoy working collaboratively with our clients and sharing the design process as we believe this achieves the most successful outcome.

Most importantly, we love what we do! To be able to change and improve the way a person lives or works in a space is very rewarding. We’re just as excited to see a project progress as you are, to see it take form, to experiment with new materials or details, to increase the amount of natural light, or how a space can now flow from one to another.

Jessica Pile (Irwin)

Director | Architect

ARBV number: 17632

Bachelor of Architecture | RMIT University 2007

Co-director of de.arch p/l, Jessica is a registered Architect with over 10 years’ experience. Prior to joining de.arch, Jessica worked in a local boutique design studio and a large and highly respected international practice. She was also principal in her own practice ‘Jessica Irwin Architect’.

Her expertise as a result is diverse and covers a wide range of design disciplines from one off bespoke residential to multi-residential and mixed use projects, commercial and retail developments, through to community, educational and recreational facilities.

She particularly enjoys the challenge of an unusual, quirky and constrained brief or site where detailed study of the people and context or taking cues from objects and existing details can unlock a projects hidden potential.

Jessica has a proven track record of successfully managing projects of various scales from inception through to completion whilst being design focused and pragmatic. She considers every design challenge faced an opportunity rather than a constraint, giving each project its own character and individuality.
